So continuing on with our recent new player interviews, we felt it appropriate to continue this theme with new left back Mark Finlayson.
Q. What attracted you to Sauchie?
A. Adrian phoned me whilst I was on holiday asking me to meet up with him for a chat, I met him once I got home up at Beachwood and I was impressed with the set up and everything he had to say about the club.
Q. How has pre season gone?
A. Its went well, the results have been fairly decent, aswell as the performances. The gaffer has worked us hard with how he wants us to play and we are raring to go.
Q. New gaffer in at sauchie, how have you found working with him so far?
A. I’ve enjoyed working with the gaffer since I first met him during pre season. The way he wants to play suits us and will win us a lot of games if we do it properly.
Q. Bit of background on yourself? Previous clubs? Age? Random fact about yourself?
A. I’m a quick, attacking minded full back. I played with falkirk since I was 10 then when I turned 16 I went full time there. I have also represented Scotland at under 16 & 17’s. I’ve recently turned 20. I was down at West Ham for a weeks trial when I was 16 and trained with the first team for a day, so that was a great experience although nothing came of it.
Q. What are you looking to achieve this season?
A. Get back to enjoying my football and hopefully help the club finish as high up the table as we can, and maybe win a trophy along the way.
Q. What do you do outside of football?
A. I’m currently looking for a full time job after coming out of full time football. Hoping to get an apprenticeship or a practical job without being an apprentice.
