Coach Corner – David Beaton

After Sauchie’s brilliant result at the weekend we caught up with assistant manager David Beaton for his thoughts on the game, the interview was a unique experience taking place inside a broom cupboard but here’s his thoughts from the weekend:

Thoughts on today:

“Magnificent results the lads were absolutely quality and stuck to the game plan we had, it was tough at times against a Tranent side challenging for the League. Really good on the ball really quality players, but to be fair we matched them in every department. And we scored a quality goal ourselves and were unlucky not to score another one towards the end. So as far as the teams concerned defensively we were brilliant we dug in when we had to and then to move on from that when we had the chance to get on the front foot we took it. Proud of the guys the boys are all in the changing room buzzing it’s a brilliant result not many teams will come here and take points off of a quality Tranent side so we’re delighted and now we can push on to the end of the season and get up this league away from the relegation places.”

Ross Crawford came back in for his seconds debut thoughts on his performance today?

“Big Ross was brilliant as well big target man ran the line well, won his headers , great touch for a big guy and scored his goal great finish from him and that’s all we can ask he worked tirelessly for 90 minutes it was tough for him to come in for his first game but to get a goal and to work for the cause, was great delighted with him.”

A couple of slight niggles with Cameron and Donaldson off injured anything to worry about?

“I hope not, Craigy has a slightly muscle issue but that should hopefully be ok both precautions rather than anything to worry about with some big fixtures coming up we didn’t want to take any risks.”
